The HOPPING FOOT is all you need to do FREE MOTION quilting on your Featherweight.

No, you don’t have to cover your feed dogs. Adjust the stitch regulator lever to what could be referred to as a ‘neutral’ position. The feed-dogs will still move up and down but will not be feeding the fabric forward or backward.

The hopping foot is lifted at the same time the feed dogs come up, allowing you to move the fabric as you stitch. Look what can be done with a Featherweight, a hopping foot and some thread. Judy Irish is Free-Motion quilting on a Featherweight in this video. WATCH NOW
