The 2011 Quilt Festival is a celebration that includes a three day show of Juried & Judged quilts Friday (9:30-5), Saturday (9:30-5), Sunday (10-4) at Maple Hall and the La Conner Quilt & Textile Museum. $10 donation, includes entrance to both venues. There will be four days of fabulous workshops beginning on Sept 29th, demonstrations by Nancy’s Needlers, specialty vendors, a silent auction, and quilt appraisals.
The downtown La Conner Quilt Walk for 2011 includes an impressive 52 participating La Conner businesses, featuring 80 quilts on display from the Tri-City Quilter’s Guild (TCQG) of Southeast WA. This group was founded in 1982 and has over 400 members. To learn more about this group visit http://www.tcquilters.com/
La Conner Quilt & Textile Museum will feature the following exhibits during Quilt Festival: “Mixed Greens: Saving the Earth One Quilt at a Time” with quilt artists from the Pacific Northwest African American Quilters and “Together” a pairing of fiber artists with other media artists from Canada. They will also be exhibiting the ”Spirit of the West” quilts, the Association of Pacific West Quilters’ newest traveling exhibit.
